Sunday's 3D Shoot In Springfield

Here are some pics from Sunday's Shoot in Springfield. It was a really nice course and was loads of fun to shoot. I can't wait to go back in a few weeks to shoot it again! They had a buffalo target!

Broken Victory And Firenock

So yesterday I was shooting the single spot target (like always) and I, in a way did a robin hood. I ended up breaking my new, barley used, Victory arrow with a Firenock. I guess thats what I get for shooting single spot.

End Of 3D League For The Year

I am so sad, 3D League is done for the year until like December. I shot the last score of 217, the exact score I got on the first day! I did pretty well for it being my first year, and I beat some other teams. But its not my last 3D shoot either, I get to go to the Pekin Archers 3D shoot tomorrow. Its outside like Pottstown, but not as long. I can't wait for that now, plus I'll be going to Pottstown many more times this year. So its not the end for 3D.

The First St. Jude 3D Shoot

On Sunday I went to Wolf Hollow Archer to shoot the St. Jude 3D shoot. When we first walked in there was the guy we had met at the Deer and Turkey Classic. He came walking over and said something like, "well look who it is". He also said like that's the girl I told you about or something to another guy. Well, the Wolf Hollow Archery place is pretty small, but all the guys there are nice. Their range is pretty small to compared to Presley's. They had 21 spots to shoot and you also had to shoot upstairs. They had some targets Presley's doesn't have, like the Reindeer, frog, stegosaurus dino, and a tan Boo Boo bear. The course was fairly easy, but really fun. I shot a 203/250 and got about 3-4 12's. I only got I think 7 5's which was pretty good. The farthest yardage was 20 so I only had to use one pin for shooting on the ground. Shooting upstairs was 27 yards so I used the 25 pin. They also had a moving target, it was a deer on a zip line. I got a 5 on that, he was moving pretty fast, but I still hit it on the first try. So the next St, Jude shoot is at Black Diamond Archery at the end of this month. I hear its a really nice course, I can't wait!

My Bowtech Heartbreaker

This is my Bowtech Heartbreaker in the color Black Ops and I named it Blackbreaker.

Yesterdays Long Day Part 2

Yesterday after Pottstown we came home for a bit before the party. The party started at 12:00 and went on till after dark. We were some of the first people there. At the park were the party was held, there was a pond and a big field. The also was a huge grill and a small house. My 3D buddy Sidney was there and Katj, my coaches daughter. My sister was ecstatic, she got to fish for the first time. She ended up catching about 5-6 fish in the end. My coach brought some 3D targets out and I got to shoot with Sidney's brother. We ate burgers and brats and chips, and cookies, with dip and all kinds of food. It was a great time to hang with friends and just chill. I ended up leaving a bit early, I had a long day and was dead tired by dark. It was great and my coach will be greatly missed.

Yesterdays Long Day

Yesterday at 5:00 in the morning I woke up to get ready for Pottstown. We ended up getting there at around 6:40-ish. Then at around 6:50 we started up the course to the warm-up place. There were a few animal targets and a target at 20 yards to 50 yards. Going from 20-30-40-50. When you went to each target there would be the adult spot and the kiddy spot. The adult spot was further than the kiddy. Some of the kiddy starting points were tougher than the adult, haha. The first target was a buck in some tall grass. I missed the 3rd target., it was a bedded doe, my arrow went just over the top. My first 12 ring hit was on target 6, I can't remember which it was. On target 12 was my new favorite target, the MOOSE! He was soooo huge! He was so big and way taller than me and my mom. Target 13 was a moving target. There was a line of cable connecting from tree to tree, and the line held the fish. The target moved kinda slow, and when you aimed you aimed at the head, so by the time your arrow hit, it would be at the 10 ring. Some other targets were a reindeer, it was huge too. My sister went wandering up to the reindeer and was just standing there. She got into so much trouble, my coach had say that you never go up to a target because you never know who might shoot it. Someone off in the distance could have tried shooting and she might have gotten hit. There were also some elk, one was standing and another sitting. I missed the sitting elk. Out of 400 possible points I got 282. Over half. I had gotten 14 5's, 8 9's, and 14 10's. It was so much fun and I can't wait to go again. Also the last target you could shoot into a plastic tube, if it went through it would go into the target at the end of the tube. If it went through 30 points, if not 10. There was also a metal duck and with a hole of foam just 3-4 inches wide, if you hit the foam, 30 points. Lastly a raccoon, just like any other target, same scoring. It was so much fun and I can't wait to go again!
